About Maeri Manddi
Maeri Manddi is a mother–daughter textile house co-founded by Smita and Darsheeka, shaped by a long-standing relationship with Indian sarees.
What began within our home evolved into a commitment to carry that familiarity forward with clarity and intention.
Where it Began
In our home, sarees were folded carefully, stored with attention, and revisited over time.
A mother’s silk became a daughter’s inheritance. Exposure to textiles across generations shaped an intuitive understanding of fabric, drape, and workmanship.
That familiarity became the foundation of Maeri Manddi.
From Inheritance to Responsibility
That personal lineage extends naturally into a wider commitment — to honour India’s diverse weaving traditions.
We approach these textiles with respect for their origin and an awareness of their continuity.
Rooted in Craft • Shaped by Legacy
Our work is guided by discipline and care.
We prioritise longevity over volume and integrity over trend, ensuring that what we create remains worthy of being carried forward.
From the Sacred Source
Our philosophy, the Sacred Source, recognises lineage, India’s textile legacy, sacred origin, and nature as interconnected foundations of creation.
It shapes both our perspective and our practice.
Maeri Manddi exists at the intersection of ancestry and craft — carrying Indian textiles forward with intention.
